New & Upcoming
Seven days to raise $14,879! Can we count on your support? It’s critical.
The PTO relies on financial support from families to ensure the sustainability of our community now and in future years. More than 110 families have contributed, please join them! Funds go directly to teachers, students, and our community. Be sure to read the “Annual Fund Spotlight,” sent each Wednesday in October, to learn more about ways the Mason-Rice PTO puts these dollars to work. (Click HERE to see last week’s spotlight on ways the Annual Fund adds value to our students’ and teachers’ day-to-day experience.)
Our goal is to raise $34,000 by October 31st, and we still have $14,879 to go. Will you help? Donate online by clicking the button below. (Suggested donation: $100 per student; less is always appreciated, and more helps a neighbor who isn’t able to contribute at the suggested amount.)
Outdoor Halloween Spooktacular- October 30th!
The 5th graders will host the Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday October 30th from 5-7 pm, outdoors on the Mason-Rice playground. This is a family friendly and nut-free event! Visitors will be dazzled by spooky displays, trick or treating stations, a haunted garden and playground, pumpkin display, photo booths, zombie basketball and other games, and delicious treats such as Boba tea and cotton candy!
Guests will be spaced out and families with younger children (grades K-2) are invited to join us starting at 5pm and older grades (3-5) are invited to join us starting at 6pm. Those with kids in both grade groups are invited to join at any time.
Pre-order tickets and sign up for pumpkin carving today by clicking here.
Event tickets may be purchased using cash or credit on the day of the event. Tickets for food and games will also be available for purchase.
PRE-ORDER now for Nov. 4th’s “First Thursday” with the North East of the Border Food Truck!
We’ve partnered with StrEATs so the Mason-Rice community can try a variety of new food trucks for take-out while also supporting the school—15% of orders will be donated back to our PTO! This COVID-friendly food truck series is “Pre-Orders only”; select your pick-up time to allow for social distancing and minimal wait times (hint: pre-order ASAP to get your preferred pick-up times).
Next up on Thursday, Nov. 4th will be North East of the Border. Take care of Thursday night dinner with authentic Mexican street tacos with all the fixings: chicken, beef, fish, and vegetarian options. This is a Mason-Rice PTO fundraiser but it’s open to all—feel free to share with your friends and neighbors!
Looking for Book Fair Volunteers!!
The Mason-Rice Book Fair returns this Fall! Are you looking for a way to get involved? This is a great chance to help plan a favorite Mason-Rice event.
Opportunities may include: creating book lists, communicating with teachers, helping students at the fair (a great chance to engage with your child’s class!), helping plan the Read Aloud evening…we would love to have your input generally as part of the team or for a specific role.
Fifth Grade Election Day Bake Sale– Tuesday, November 2nd!
The annual 5th grade fundraiser election day bake sale will be held on November 2nd from 7:30am – 2pm (or until supplies run out). Our 5th grade families are busy baking hundreds of cookies, cakes, muffins and other delicious treats just for you! Coffee and hot chocolate will be available for purchase and both cash and credit will be accepted.
*Re: Food allergies: Although all items are made without nuts, because they are homemade they are not produced in nut-free facilities.
