A Glimpse of How Fundraising Supports Mason-Rice

Starting Monday, students won’t have a cold and dirty rear end after sitting outside! The PTO was delighted to supply the school with outdoor cushions to facilitate teachers taking their lessons outdoors. This is one of the many ways that our PTO partners with the staff and teachers to make the school experience healthy, clean, and conducive to learning for all Mason-Rice students!

Launching: “First Thursdays” Fall Food Truck Fundraising series

Back by popular demand! The PTO is thrilled to kick-off the “First Thursdays” Fall Food Truck Fundraising series! We’re partnering with StrEATS so the Mason-Rice community can try out new Food Trucks for dinner while also supporting the school – 15% of orders will be donated back to the PTO! This COVID-friendly series takes pre-orders only so pre-select your pick-up time to allow for social distancing and minimal wait times. (hint: pre-order ASAP to get your preferred time slots!)

Red’s Street Kitchen

First up on Thursday October 7th will be Red’s Street Kitchen. PRE-ORDER HERE.

Red’s Street Kitchen has been roaming the streets of New England since 2016, and serving up quality street fare that’s truly a cut above the rest. At Red’s Street Kitchen, they’ve elevated street food classics to a whole new level of delicious. What level? Gourmet, and specifically using only the freshest ingredients around. Craving a big ol’ cheesesteak? Red’s Street Kitchen uses thinly shaved beef on an amoroso roll. Get the classic alongside sauteed onions, mushrooms and cheese, or go for their specialty Blue Zombie topped with bleu cheese, bacon and horseradish mayo. But that’s not all. Red’s Street Kitchen is known for their cluckin’ delicious buttermilk fried chicken, dusted in signature breading and deep fried to golden brown perfection, along with hand-cut fries.

Reminders & Updates

Back to School Picnic

What a fantastic time we had at our Back to School Picnic on Wednesday! It was so wonderful to spend time together, connect, and strengthen the vibrant community we have at Mason-Rice. We were able to raise just over $1,000 for our general PTO fund and the 5th graders raised $650 for their graduation celebration. Nice job!

Special thanks to all the volunteers who helped make it possible and a huge ‘Thank You’ to all the families that joined the fun.

5th Grade Event Planning Meeting: 9/30, 7:30pm

5th grade families are invited to kick off event planning and fundraising by attending an organizational meeting on September 30th at 7:30pm via Zoom. Each 5th grade class is charged with determining graduation activities and fundraising goals and must raise funds independent of the PTO budget. If you are the parent of a 5th grader and are able to attend, or cannot attend but are interested in learning more, please RSVP here.
