Next Week is Teacher Appreciation Week!
While the PTO has some fun stuff planned to honor and celebrate our teachers, it is always wonderful to receive handwritten notes and pictures from students!
Mark Your Calendars
The PTO welcomes you to enjoy Family Movie Night on Friday, May 13th for a viewing of Disney’s Encanto! All are welcome so pack your fluffy blankets and chairs, pillows, and drinks!
Pick a spot behind the school at 7:40 p.m. – the movie starts promptly at sunset! Popcorn and assorted candy will be available (donations suggested).
Reminders & Updates
A+ Magazine Submissions due TODAY
Mason-Rice parents! Today is the last day to get your child’s creation to us to be included in this year’s A+ Magazine! Submit your child’s artwork, story, poem, favorite recipe, pet picture, puzzle, musical performance, interview (person, pet, fictional – all welcome!), scenic photograph, book review, etc., by emailing us here. An easy way to do this is snap a picture of the submission with a smartphone and email it to us!
An online version will be available to all families to view next month and depending on interest, a printed color copy may be available for purchase thereafter. Any questions? Contact us. We would love to have a submission from every Mason-Rice student included!
Mason-Rice Serves
Come anytime between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to help with clean-up, gardening and repairs. All are welcome even if you did not sign up with the city.
We need WHEELBARROWS!!! Even if you can’t make it, you can still help out by loaning us you wheelbarrow. Wheelbarrows can be dropped off at the garden shed by the K entrance Sunday morning. Please label you wheelbarrow with duct tape!
LIKE POWER TOOLS? We need a volunteer with a circular saw who can measure and cut wood to replace broken garden boards. We will provide the wood. Email Kate Wissel if you are able to help, or if you have any questions.

Your usual shopping can support PTO-funded activities (such as teacher classroom allowances, appreciation lunches, and curriculum-enhancing programming for all our students). Last year, the Mason-Rice community shopped with our partners and raised nearly $1500 while participation in our Spring '21 Restaurant Series raised an additional $1100!
