As we look ahead to the end of another school year, we are pleased to present our community with the voting proxy for the proposed Slate of Officers and Board Members as well as the summary of the proposed 2020-21 Budget. As parents, you are all members of the PTO and as such, we encourage you to review this information and contact us with any questions you may have. As a PTO, we are really excited for next year, and for the investments we are making as a community.
THE SLATE OF OFFICERS AND BOARD MEMBERS
The current PTO structure remains in place and please see the proposed slate for next year below.
As many of you know, we have five main fundraisers: Book Fair, Auction, Raffle Baskets, Shopping and Dues. Our proposed fundraising has been lowered to align with both the new spending cap as well as a smaller estimated student population of 425 children. We don’t know what the fall will look like and there are many unknowns. While we are required to submit our budget now, we expect to use some savings to help off-set costs to families next year.
On the expense side, the PTO spends the bulk of its funds on categories that supplement learning such as Creative Arts and Sciences, Curriculum and Classroom Support, and Technology.
We did a thorough review of our operating budget with the PTO Board in May and kept most categories equal to this year. Please review the proposed budget here.
Please vote by completing this form to submit your form of proxy for the proposed Slate & Budget by EOD Thursday, June 12th. We acknowledge this is a condensed timeframe to review the budget and slate – as putting it together this year took a bit longer due to a delayed May meeting and additional follow-up work. We are comfortable with the condensed time frame as members can vote either by proxy or at the meeting on Friday.
