Many parents like to get involved in our very engaging Library Program. Here are a few important things to know:
- There is a wealth of information and resources on Ms. Reed’s website. We strongly encourage you to check it out at http://elemlibraries.newton.k12.ma.us/c.php?g=577306&p=3982452
- Ms. Reed also writes a blog – Reederama — about library happenings with each grade. Check it out at http://reederama.blogspot.com and sign up to get email updates by submitting your email address.
- One of the best ways to get to know your child’s class is to volunteer during library time. General duties include checking books in and out, shelving books, and assisting Ms. Reed as needed. Room parents circulate an onine sign-up for library volunteers. Check with your Room Parent for library sign-up for your child’s classroom.
- There is often a need for help reshelving books during the week so check in after drop-off or before pick-up to shelve books for a few minutes.
To help out in the library any other time, please contact our librarian, Jennifer Reed, directly.
