The Mason-Rice Green Team announces the brand-new GreenTeam Club for third through fifth graders.
|WHO:||3-5 graders at Mason-Rice who care about the environment and want to make the world greener now! The club is organized by Mason-Rice parent, Heather Friedman and former Mason-Rice parent, Claire Nivola. (Other parents are warmly welcomed to join us!)|
|WHAT:||The GreenTeam Club will give members the chance to learn about and get active in addressing environmental problems that touch their everyday lives. We’ll use activities drawn from PBS’ The Greens Activities Guide as well as club members’ ideas.|
|WHEN:||The club will meet on one Tuesday per month (except March when we’ll meet twice) at school from 12:30-2 pm (2:15 pm pick up in the front hall). The first meeting will be on December 12th. Subsequent meetings are Jan 9, Feb 13, March 6, March 20, April 10, May 15 and June 12. (Club members should bring a bag lunch to eat at the beginning of the club meeting).|
|HOW TO JOIN:||If your 3-5 grade child is interested in joining the club, he or she should be available for at least 7 of the meeting dates. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your child’s name, grade, age and 1-3 sentences written or dictated by your child describing his or her reason for wanting to join the GreenTeam club.|
|DEADLINE TO APPLY:||Nov. 29th at 5 pm. There is a limit of 10 participants. If more than 10 children apply to join the club, we will choose participants by lottery before December 3rd.|
