Dear Parents,

We hope everyone is safe and sound after yesterday’s storm. We understand quite a few families lost power and hope you’re back to normal operating conditions or will be soon. Feel free to reach out to the community if you need help or a warm place to ride it out. Several families yesterday hosted neighbors during the outages. What a great community!

We hope everyone who attended the Mystery Dinner has recuperated by now. It was a wonderful evening and we hope, like us, you got to meet new parents and expand your community network. We’d like to express a special thanks to lead the coordinators of the Mystery Dinner, Jessica Poscover and Sara Penn, along with all the committee members Lara Bethke, Liz Bouvier, Carol Ann Delmonico, Joyce Leonardo, Janelle Phillips, Marty Smith and Sarah Fogelman for all the amazing hard work they did to coordinate 14 dinner hosts, 130 guests along with the appetizer and dessert locations to accommodate everyone. Also a special thanks to the Fitzgeralds and the Bethke/Wellesley families, hosts of appetizers and desserts, for allowing the 130+ Mason Rice parents into their homes. We’ve heard they’re quite a rambunctious crowd…

The fun never ends at Mason-Rice and tonight is Bingo Night, we hope you had a chance to signup for the event. Bingo begins at 6pm at the school in The Centre – FREE Bingo cards and prizes for EVERYONE! Pizza, beverages and snacks will be provided. Please remember to signup so the organizers can plan for food orders.

It’s time for all budding scientists to start thinking about their projects and experiments for the upcoming Mason-Rice Science Fair to be held on Friday, April 27. Please see below for additional details.

Last, but not least, just a reminder that this coming Monday, March 12 in The Centre, Principal Bultema will host Mason-Rice parents to provide updates on school events and initiatives such as the recently completed Evacuation Location/Drill, S.T.A.R.S, Work Shares, and our student elected school mascot. We encourage all parents to attend, ask questions and stay connected with the school.

All the best,

Will Adams & Jas Rai
