Dear Parents,

During this time of Thanksgiving, we want to share with all of you our appreciation for your help given, time shared, and contributions made this school year.  Thank you to the 177 families that have helped raise $39,695.  We are 99% of the way to $40,000, but need all your help to get there.  Let’s raise the final few hundred together and get this campaign over the line.   This is your chance to shine … cross the finish line, cut the ribbon and feel all that virtual confetti rain down.

It is a Mason-Rice School tradition to support the annual Gift of Giving campaign during the holiday season.  The Gift of Giving team is still collecting gift cards, as well as new, unwrapped toys, crafts, and art supplies that can be used to supplement gift lists as needed. Sign up to purchase and donate gifts cards at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b084aaeaf29ab9-gift. While the Gift of Giving program supports families throughout the Boston metropolitan area, the Mason-Rice PTO is also always ready and willing to support anyone within our community who has a need.  Should your family need support as we enter the winter months, purchasing warm clothes, coats or boots or helping meet a holiday gift need for your child, please do not hesitate to contact Principal Bultema.  Our efforts will be coordinated through Susan Kass, our Mason-Rice Social Worker, and all will be kept strictly confidential.

It was amazing seeing so many parents from our community at the recent Parent Social. Thank you to everyone who attended who made it such a great evening, those who provided live music and our hosts at Central and the Parent Social Committee for organizing.

Reminder today is Thanksgiving Walk to School DayPlease join us in walking or biking to school this today and pre-celebrate Thanksgiving with stickers and other superstars rewards!  It’s supposed to be a brisk but sunny morning, perfect for a walk or bike to school.  If you can’t walk the whole way, park a few blocks away and walk part of the way.  Having your child take the bus counts as well!  A big thank you to Barbara Nestle for coordinating this event.

We wish all of you a nice weekend.  As always, send us an email if you have questions, suggestions or comments.
