The weather this week has continued to be delightful with cool mornings and beautiful afternoons. It’s been great to see the leaves on the trees continue to come in, as well as the flowers blooming.
With the exception of our fifth graders completing the Science portion of the MCAS next week, as well as a few make-ups, all of our third, fourth, and fifth graders have completed the Language Arts and Mathematics portions of the MCAS. A big thank you to Jen Bailey and Kim Shames who have been our MCAS Coordinators throughout this testing.
It was great to see several fifth grade families this past Monday, May 7 in our Centre as John Jordan, Brown Middle School Principal, and Maureen Oates, Brown PTO Co-President, spoke and answered questions about the Brown experience. It’s hard to believe that middle school is on the horizon for our fifth graders.
This morning I am eager to pull names for our Raffle Basket winners. Thank you to all who helped support this fundraiser, which in turn supports our school community. Thank you to Sarah Solomon for taking the lead on this fundraiser, as well as Amanda Mahajan, Melinda Michalman, Sara Penn, Galit Rosen, Marci Shyavitz and Shana Zandman for all of your help and support.
I look forward to seeing those of you who are able to attend our Principal Coffee this morning in our Music Room (just down the hall from the Centre) from 8:30-9:30am.
I would also like to extend a very Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers in our Mason-Rice community.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend.
