Luckily we escaped this week’s nor’easter with minimal snow and wind and were successfully able to complete a full five-day week of school for the first time in several weeks. Hopefully more spring-like weather and temperatures are on the way!
Due to the snowstorm from this past week that caused us to miss two days of school we have yet to have our Kindergarten Registration days. We have rescheduled these days for next Tuesday, March 27 and Wednesday, March 28. We look forward to welcoming our new incoming kindergarten students and families, as well as reconnecting with returning families. Superintendent David Fleishman has a scheduled visit for this upcoming Tuesday, March 27, which will provide him a great opportunity to see our kindergarten registration in action, as well as the chance to meet some of our new kindergarten students and their families.
The predicted snowstorm this week caused us to also reschedule the Mason-Rice Social Action Committee Bake Sale to benefit the New England Wildlife Center to Thursday, April 5 after school at 3 p.m. If you have any questions or are planning to bake something for the sale, please contact Kate Wissel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you to you all for your flexibility around the need to reschedule conferences due to the abundance of snow days these past few weeks. Teachers have enjoyed the opportunity to meet with you and share the academic and social/emotional growth of your child over nearly the first three-quarters of our school year.
Thank you also to the many parents who have volunteered their time to come in and willingly share their expertise with classrooms during our STEAM weeks. Your thoughtfully planned presentations are something our school community always looks forward to. Many thanks again to Aedin Culhane and Sharon Topper, our 2018 STEAM week committee, for leading the charge on coordinating these great experiences.
Lastly, as a reminder next Friday, March 30 is Good Friday and there will be no school.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend.
