Our ninth week of school has provided my family with a true blessing as we welcomed our first child, Wynn H Bultema. He was born on Saturday, October 28 just before 6:00 in the evening, weighing 8.9 ounces and 21.5 inches. It has been a gift to take this week off to share time with my wife Kelly, our French bulldog Rhubarb, and our son. A tremendous thank you to our Teacher-In-Charge/Fifth Grade Teacher Katie Hyder and our school psychologist Jeff Torch for leading our school in my absence. I know that the school was in great hands under their guidance and could see their hardworking efforts firsthand when I communicated regularly with the two of them throughout the week.
This Tuesday, October 31 our kindergarteners and teachers enjoyed taking part in our annual Kindergarten Parade as they showed off their clever and creative costumes. Classrooms were buzzing as students engaged in an array of activities to celebrate the day. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who offered their time to support these activities.
Today is Picture Day. Thank you to Leslie Ziarko Valera and Lauren Engel for coordinating this important event, as well as all of the parents who have volunteered to help the day run seamlessly so that our students can simply share their pearly whites.
It is a Mason-Rice School tradition to support the annual Gift of Giving campaign during the holiday season (see PTO letter below). While this program supports families throughout the Boston metropolitan area, the Mason-Rice PTO is also always ready and willing to support anyone within our community who has a need. Should your family need support as we enter the winter months, purchasing warm clothes, coats or boots or helping meet a holiday gift need for your child please do not hesitate to contact me. Our efforts will be coordinated through Susan Kass, our social worker, and all will be kept strictly confidential.
In addition, our PTO willingly supports those families who might benefit from a voucher or scholarship for field trips, school pictures, book fair purchases, or other school-related expenses. Again, all one needs to do is contact me and we will gladly provide the necessary funds. Every family can struggle now and then, and we hope that families who can benefit from this program will contact me so support can be provided.
What to do:
If you are interested in receiving holiday support, you may contact me or Susan Kass at email@example.com or by phone at (617) 559-9570 by Friday, November 18, 2017.
For needs with any other school related expense please contact me at anytime. Thank you very much.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend and look forward to returning back to Mason-Rice on Monday, November 6.
